Saturday Night, Pele Awards and Searching for Food
The 2008 Pele Awards was as inspiring as ever. But the event was pupus only so afterwards we went hunting for food. Our first choice, Kohnotori, was full. We bumped into our neighbors, Donna and Michael, who were chillin’ with friends. Mel found out that Jay-san had moved on to Don Quixote in Pearl City.
We found a table at Tokkuri-Tei, where we were last week Sunday for Mel’s birthday.
Our dessert at the Pele Awards, in the Tapa Ballroom, Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Our neighbors, Donna and Michael at Kohnotori. Here is a review about the restaurant.
Hanging at Tokkuri-Tei. Who is Ben Apuna and is he really a celebrity?
Ume-Q at Tokkuri-Tei. Exquisite knife-work.
