It began a long time ago. This passion for photography … it started with just a small Brownie, later an Argus C3.
Then came the magic of chemicals and Tri-X in many an all-night affair shuttered from the outside world. Magical work which began before the sun set and continued until after the following sunrise.
The process and tools may have changed over the years. But the images remain.
Family includes Melanie and Cupie. We live in Honolulu, Hawaii, with views from our home of Manoa Valley and the city. We used to be able to see Diamond Head until a storage company put up a building across the street.
I’ve been an insurance agent since 1977. I write business for several companies and specialize in life, annuities, disability and long term care. I also develop and host web sites. Read about that here. This work keeps me engaged with the world of technology.
In 2005 I decided to return to one of my first passions, photography. My posts here will include my images, but you will find my photo gallery here. I am happiest when I am creating images. Last year I became a member of the Professional Photographers of Hawaii.
I also volunteer with the Hawaii Macintosh & Apple Users’ Society (HMAUS). I’ve been a member since 1984. Two or three times monthly I am a volunteer mediator for the Mediation Center of the Pacific. Their web site is here.
Assignments
I’m available for photo assignments. I prefer doing editorial, documentary, travel, food, culture and fashion shoots. Home base is Honolulu, Hawaii and I am willing to travel.
